Baron Lake
Baron Lake is located on the West side of the Sawtooth Mountains in a drainage that flows into the South Fork of the Payette River above Grand Jean.
This photo was taken during a three night back packing trip on Fourth of July weekend 2012. Our trip started on their West side in Grand Jean, walked up Baron creek to the lakes. From there crossed over the ridge and camped at the Cramer Lakes. From Cramer Lakes I climbed Decker Peak, and then we headed down to Redfish Lake, where we caught a Jet Boat across the lake for the final part of our adventure. In 2020, Baron Spire (which would be just off the picture to the right) collapsed due to an earth quake.
