Sacajawea Peak

Date: 2013-08-02

Sacajawea Peak is the tallest peak in the Wallowa Mountains and is located in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. The climb has a nice trail all the way to the summit and starts in Hurricane Creek. The climb is about 4800 feet of elevation in 7 miles on way and gives you a great view of the Eagle Cap Wilderness.

Mount Cramer

Date: 2013-07-20

Mount Cramer is the second tallest mountain in the Sawtooths at an elevation of 10,716 feet. The climb is mostly class 2 with a few small scrambles over a boulder field that starts up Hell Roaring Creek.

Smokey Mountains

Saivers Peak is the tallest mountain in the Smokeys (which are located on one side of Sun Valley). The climb of Saivers Peak starts at Galena Summit and follows the ridge over two nunammed points then over Titus Peak, Bromaghin Peak and finally to the top of Saivers Peak at an elevation of 10,441 feet.

Kings Peak

Date: 2013-06-14 -> 2013-06-16

Kings Peak is the highest mountain in Utah at an elevation of 13,528 feet. The mountain is located in the Unita Mountains on the North Eastern border of the state. Due to the dry year we were able to get up into the mountains early and as one of the first possible weekends we walked up the Henry\\\'s Fork of the Green River to form base camp and I climbed the peak from there.

Smokey Dome

Date: 2013-06-01

Smokey Dome is the tallest peak in highest peak in the Solider Mountains at an elevation of 10,095 feet. The Solider mountains are the mountain range just north of Fairfield Idaho which is a small town on the road between Boise and Sun Valley. The climb was a nice day hike from outside of Fairfield to the summit.

Mount Olympus

Date: 2013-05-26

Mount Olympus sits in the Wasatch Mountains right out side of Salt Lake City. On this visit to my grandparents we took a day and climbed to the top of the peak and back. The climb starts right on the edge of Wasatch Boulivard and climbs 4,000 feet in about 3.5 miles.

Owyhee Mountains

Date: 2013-05-24

The Owyhee Mountains are a isolated range South of Boise near the Idaho Border. I have been in these mountains a bit but have yet to climb them and after I couldn't make it to the top eariler in the year due to snow I returned and climbed to the top of three main summits, War Eagle Mountin, Turntable Mountain and Hayden Peak (the top of Cinnabar Mountain).

Boise Peak

Date: 2013-05-05

Boise Peak is one of the last peaks I had to summit on the Boise Ridge. This ended up being one of my longer hikes as I started from the foot hills, hiked up to the peak then along the ridge and down another valley. In total I ended up walking 18 miles in about 9 hours.

Bogus Basin

Date: 2013-04-27

Two of the bigger peaks at the Bogus Basin ski hill are Shafer Butte and Mores Mountain. It was high time I climbed to the top of these two summits so this was a short trip from the ski resort up the snow covered back side of Shafer Butte and then down and across to Mores Mountain.

Danskin Peak

Date: 2013-04-14

Danskin Peak is the highest peak in a small range of mountains called the Danskins. Atop the peak is an old look out. My climb was to start on the South Fork of the Boise on the backside and spend the day climbing up the mountain. The climb was a nice hike in which I got to see lots of wildlife.
