View from Decker Peak
Decker Peak is the third highest peak in the Sawtooth Mountain Range, and is located on the ridge south of Red Fish Lake. This view looks over the Sawtooth mountains westward from Decker Peak. In the valley below you can see the Cramer Lakes.
My climb of Decker peak was part of a multiple day backpacking trip, in which we started on the West side of the Sawtooth Mountains at Grand Jean, and hiked up to Baron Lake. From there we crossed over the divide into Redfish Lake Creek, and made our way over to the Cramer Lakes.
The climb of the peak was from the Cramer Lakes and a line up past a small pond to the ridge south of the summit, then from there I made my way to the summit for this view.
You can find many photos of my full backpacking trip though the Sawtooth Mountains in the Decker Peak photo album.
